CHILD OF THE MONTH
Mackenzie
Justine Hernandez was born on July 19, 1991. She’s now 9 years old. The name
Justine is her mother’s name. Mackenzie’s saint’s name is Saint Xenia,
which is celebrated on January 24. Sometimes on that day, Mackenzie writes a
paper about the saint or goes to dinner with her family.
Mackenzie loves to go to church, but when she’s not at church she’s either playing her favorite sports or spending time on her favorite hobbies. What do you think her favorite sports are? Take a guess. Choose three from the list:
A) football. B) running track C) soccer D) eating pies
E) basketball F) jumping obstacles G) jump roping
(Print page or write on a piece of paper)
Write your answers here: _______________, _________________, _______________
Let’s see here… When interviewed, Mackenzie said she liked football, soccer, and basketball. How many did you guess right? Now see if you can choose her favorite hobbies. Pick two from below:
A) knitting B) skating C) collecting stamps D) computer games
E) collecting beanie babies F) hanging out with her Sunday School teacher
Write your two guesses here: ____________________ ________________________
Let’s see here again… Did you pick the answers that go with letters D and E? Well… those are her hobbies.
Mackenzie has three best friends at school and no, you don’t have to guess who they are! Lindsey is one of her best friends because they have a lot in common. Emily is another best friend because they’ve known each other since kindergarten. Last by not least, Jessica is another best friend because they play a lot together and they have a lot in common. Who are your best friends? Name three just as Mackenzie did down below:

It’s time to end this article on Mackenzie but before we do, here’s a story that Mackenzie thought was a miracle in her life: "When I was in school, in the beginning of the day I prayed for a social studies test because I did not know a lot about it. When the test was graded, I got 100%! My first words were: "WOW!!!" and I know that God had helped me. Mackenzie’s last words in this interview was a little message to all of you: "God can help you in unexpected ways…"
