Pentecost

A long time ago, I heard a story about a destitute individual who was, as the saying goes “down on his luck”.  This person felt alone in life, unworthy to pray to God because of many committed sins and transgressions.  He felt that God would not listen to him at all.

How many of you have similar feelings of aloneness and abandonment in life, both by god and by others?

Listen what the Lord tells us during the feast of Pentecost:  Lo, I will be with you always, and I will send you the Comforter the Spirit of Truth I will give my joy, which the world knows not.

Don’t let the Devil take away your faith and your hope in God our Savior!  Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

Open your heart to the mercy of the Lord and he will not disclaim you.  Look at the feast of Pentecost, how more than 3,000 individuals were baptized and believed in God’s mercy and love.

Pray with the church and all those who put their hope in the Lord:

Oh Heavenly King and Comforter,
the Spirit of
Truth.  Thou who art everywhere present and fillest all things.  The treasury of good and bestower of life: Come dwell in us, and cleanse of from every stain, and save our souls, O Good One.
